Coffeeshop Dispatch Vol. 8

Greetings from the studio~

November was a bit of a rollercoaster & my missing blog post is evidence.

While it started with a happy family wedding and ended with a wonderful chaotic laughter-filled Thanksgiving, it was punctured in the middle with the sudden loss of an old friend. So I frankly lost a week to this news and am just now kind of recouping.

It’s always a reflective time of year and I’m deep in it after this poignant event. I’m grateful to have time and space to pause and am looking forward to pulling inward to find my footing in the midst of what can normally be a chaotic season. I’m opting this year for some quiet gentle holidays that renew my spirit and rest my bones. That’s actually what we are supposed to be doing in the winter months, right? I hope everyone reading this has a pocket of quiet time on the books for themselves this month to keep themselves supported. Taking good care of ourselves, whatever that looks like is a gift in an of itself. I wish that for everyone this year.

That said, I’ve been spending a lot of time clearing out and resetting my studio as a part of prepping for a quiet January. Right now it is ready for our last Second Saturday of the year on 12/13. I’m having what you’d call a “Fire Sale” with a lot of items & will be sharing them on my Instagram next week so even if you’re not local you can take a look. From 6-9 pm we’ll have Open Studios and I’ll have a bit of sparkling cider and treats. Thanks ahead of time if you make it fingers crossed the weather cooperates.

I’m teaching two workshops again the last two wknds in January and you can find more info and how to register by clicking the image above. I’m also looking at putting together a few photo workshops too in Late February or March as well and will share details as they form. I like short form classes that are concentrated yet manageable for people especially when a subject is new to them. I think wknd workshops fit into everyone’s schedule easier too especially when the winter is long and evening classes are tricky in cold weather when it’s dark so early. These two workshops are from 10-2 so very doable.

I have more to share in a second post between now and the end of the month but until then I hope this holiday season is a gentle and peaceful one for everyone after a doozy of a year. Thanks for being here.
